QualityMetric signaled its renewed commitment to promoting global expansion of health outcomes measurement with the appointment of Barbara Gandek, MS, as Director and Senior Scientist, International Research and Development.

One of Barbara's responsibilities is to oversee all translations of QualityMetric's health surveys into different languages. Our SF-36v2® Health Survey, for example, is now available in more than 120 language translations.

The translation process involves two bilingual translators who independently convert the survey into the new language. Great care is taken to ensure that the translated survey is conceptually equivalent and culturally appropriate to the country.
