QualityMetric's Burden of Disease Impact Assessment (BDIA) is a customized innovation for disease management and pharmaceutical companies, health plans, and employer groups with an interest in identifying and monitoring their chronically ill populations cost effectively. This risk predictive tool couples a QualityMetric SF™ Generic Health Survey with one or more short disease-specific surveys to assess the impact of multiple chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, heart failure, coronary artery disease, diabetes, and depression) on the functioning and well-being of defined populations. If condition status has yet to be determined, our BDIA can also include a widely used disease/condition checklist to identify individuals and subgroups with relevant conditions.

The BDIA is a customized service generally involving two steps. Part one recognizes unique client requirements that include consultation on the content and logic of the BDIA, and on the implementation of health status surveys in chronic condition cohorts. Part two includes programming the customized BDIA for online delivery and building a web interface for implementation on the client's website or through QualityMetric's assessment website at amIhealthy.

QualityMetric also offers value-added services as part of the BDIA solution set, including online scoring with the featured missing data estimator that allows for the scoring of incomplete records on the generic health measures. As such, the BDIA is a highly customized, state-of-the-art disease management solution that can also serve to enhance patient-provider communication.
