This six-item, self-administered survey was developed and validated in a collaborative population monitoring project to
assess the effect of asthma, its symptoms, and its treatment on an individual's functional status and well being. Fast to complete
and easily scored, the AIS-6 provides precise, reliable, and valid scores. Useful both for screening and for monitoring change in disease
impact over time, its scores can be easily interpreted by both patients and clinicians. Available in a paper-and-pencil format
and online, AIS-6 can be completed in a clinical practice setting, at home, or other locations.
AIS-6 can also be customized for online administration.
The AIS-6 can be used alone, paired with one of the SF™ Generic Health Surveys, or included
in a customized Burden of Disease Impact Assessment system.
