The Dynamic Computer Adaptive (DYNHA®) System is QualityMetric's exclusive computerized adaptive testing (CAT) technology which provides faster and smarter health Assessments. QualityMetric has coupled modern measurement methods with CAT technology to create software that makes health status surveys very short, precise, and valid for use in risk screening and health outcomes monitoring.

The Advantages of Dynamic Health Assessments:
  • Brevity of a short form - accuracy of a long form
  • More accurate risk screening
  • Reliable enough to monitor outcomes for individuals
  • 80% to 90% reduction in respondent burden
  • Markedly lower data collection costs
  • Direct comparability with scores for widely used measures
  • User-friendly, real-time results with built-in interpretation
DYNHA Health Assessments Available:
Use DYNHA Health Assessments to:
  • Easily collect patient-based health status data in clinical settings
  • Ask patients to update assessments between visits using their own computers or telephones
  • Screen patients for risk and disease management programs
  • Monitor changes in health over time
  • Evaluate impact of disease and treatment on functioning and well being
  • Provide clinicians with real-time score feedback and interpretation
  • Monitor the health of general and patient populations
DYNHA Technology
The DYNHA Ruler

To develop our dynamic (computerized adaptive) technology, QualityMetric uses modern measurement methods based on item response theory (IRT) to calibrate large "pools" of items from public and proprietary databases that include the most widely used health status assessments, both generic and disease-specific. These IRT models provide estimates of measurement precision for each level of functioning, that is, they define the marks on a "ruler" for health that indicate how to score each response to each survey item.

Knowing that score precision improves when the respondent answers items that define nearby levels of health on the "ruler," the DYNHA® computerized adaptive survey software developed by QualityMetric selects and scores only those items required to calculate a precise score for that individual.

Thus, the DYNHA health assessment offers a unique short- form survey, or health ruler, for each respondent. Because all items in the available pool have been calibrated in the same way, resulting scores can be compared across respondents.
