The DYNHA® Osteoarthritis (OA) Impact Survey is a brief, multi-item, computerized adaptive assessment of the impact of osteoarthritis on an individual's life. It surpasses traditional measures of disability associated with a specific disease by assessing relevant aspects of functional health and well-being (including physical, social and psychological domains) as it assesses the level of impact that OA has on a patient's physical functioning, social/role participation, ability to engage in recreational and leisure activities, psychological distress/well-being, and vitality.

The DYNHA OA Impact Survey is a patient-reported assessment that:

  • Is precise, reliable, and well-documented
  • Is fast to complete and score
  • Can be used to measure changes over time beyond pain relief (product marketing)
  • Is easy for clinicians and patients to interpret

This two-part online survey includes

  • A computer adaptive battery that draws on 37 items in an item pool selected to capture the effect of osteoarthritis, its symptoms, and its treatment on an individual's functional status and well-being
  • An optional battery to obtain patient-reported information on pain, medications, and treatment satisfaction
  • Can be used to measure changes over time beyond pain relief (product marketing)
  • Is easy for clinicians and patients to interpret

Online delivery of the disease impact battery survey uses QualityMetric's DYNHA computer-adaptive software to select and score only those items required to calculate a precise score for the individual. While the software offers a unique short-form survey for each respondent, all items have been calibrated on the same metric, enabling patients to compare their own disease impact scores over time and clinicians to compare scores across patients and over time.
