Pediatric Asthma Control Test™ (Self-administered from age 12 and older)
The Asthma Control Test™ (ACT) was originally developed and validated primarily in an adult population.
A study supporting the use of ACT for identifying adolescent patients at risk of poorly controlled asthma
was administered to asthma patient's aged 12-17 years. Study results reinforce the usefulness of ACT by
clinicians as a measure of asthma control to identify high-risk adolescent patients with or without the use of lung function testing.
Pediatric Asthma Impact™ Survey (PAIS-6)
QualityMetric's Pediatric Asthma Impact Survey (PAIS-6) is a brief (six-item) health assessment designed to measure the impact
of asthma on a child's functioning and well-being. The survey was designed to be brief, yet comprehensive and scientifically valid
in its coverage of content areas relevant to the physical, social, and psychological effects of asthma.
The PAIS-6 produces a measure of asthma impact that is easy for both clinicians and parents to use and interpret.
With just six items on a 1-page form, the Pediatric Asthma Impact Survey can be easily integrated into routine clinical practice, disease management,
and quality improvement initiatives.
